The RE-ENGAGE project is pleased to announce the publication of two comprehensive background papers that delve into the dynamics of hybrid regimes in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Neighbourhood amidst the current geopolitical landscape.
The first paper, Hybridity and Hybrid Regimes in the Western Balkans in a Time of War and Increased Geopolitical Tensions, examines how political hybridity has shaped governance and democratic processes in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia, with a special focus on the effects of recent geopolitical tensions.
The second paper, Hybridity and Hybrid Regimes in the Eastern Neighbourhood in a Time of War and Increased Geopolitical Tensions, explores similar themes in Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia, shedding light on how these countries are navigating the challenges of war and their evolving relationships with the European Union.
Both papers provide valuable insights into the resilience and fragility of hybrid regimes in these regions, offering an understanding of their political trajectories in the context of ongoing conflict and external pressures.
